Welcome Citizens of District K!

We must keep politics out of our courts.

As a citizen of Jefferson Parish you should be very concerned about who wears the robe and sits behind the bench.

You need a judge who has “Judicial Temperament.” That is someone who is even-tempered and will be courteous and considerate of counsel, parties, witnesses and jurors.

You need a judge who will always provide you with a level playing field and not allow politics to give an advantage to one over another.

And, you need a judge who has experience handling all types of cases that may come before him.

I am that candidate.

I have spent more than ten years working on the Professionalism Committee of the State Bar Association trying to improve the image of the profession. I have lectured lawyers and law students alike on the value of professionalism to the profession. I will take this quest to the bench.

I promise you that I will treat you and your attorney with respect. I will do this first by respecting your time. After 23 years of practice, I know, no one likes to waste a day in court waiting. I will start on time and work to get you and your attorney out quickly.

I will come to court prepared and after listening to argument of counsel, be ready to rule, because I believe, Justice delayed is Justice denied.

I have handled just about every type of case that a Judge sitting on the 24th Judicial District Court might expect to see. I have been counsel in over 500 civil cases in the 24th Judicial District Court ranging from Divorce, Child Custody, Child Support, Partitions, Successions, Collection, Personal Injury, and over 175 criminal cases, misdemeanor and felony. No other candidate has this experience.

I have served the community and the bar for the last 23 years, now I want to serve you as Judge of Div. K of the 24th Judicial District Court.

Thank you,

Ray Steib
