The Issues
Tough on Crime
As the father of two young children, keeping our children safe in Post-Katrina Jefferson Parish is my top priority. Violent crime will not be tolerated. We will make it clear to hardened criminals that Jefferson Parish is the wrong place to commit crime and think you'll get away with it. I will work with the Sheriff's office to make sure we keep criminal's off the street and in jail where they belong.
Professionalism
For too long in Louisiana, we elected many Judges based on "who you knew" and not what you know. It's a new day in Louisiana and it’s time we start electing more men and women who will bring professionalism and honor to the bench. We need to run our courts more effectively and efficiently, because citizens deserve a higher standard and it’s the right thing to do. As your Judge, Ray Steib will bring my many years of practicing law with the highest degree of professionalism and ethics to work for you each and every day at the courthouse.
Legal Experience
We deserve a Judge who has the practical background in knowing how a courtroom works. Judicial Temperament
Judicial Temperament is not a luxury in the courtroom, it’s a necessity. As a Judge, you must handle cases both fairly and effectively. A Judge must know the principles upon which our judicial system was founded and act accordingly. In the courtroom, a Judge must protect the rights of everyone involved so that everyone who enters his or her courtroom does so with the confidence that they will be treated with the appropriate standards. Ray Steib has the right temperament to serve on the bench, a balance of fairness and firmness, a balance that serves Justice.
